How To Make $1,000 Per Month From Your Blog, So, you want to learn how to make $1,000 per month from your blog and possibly do it without spending a cr*p load of your hard-earned cash on expensive ads or investing in silly, gimmicky money-making systems that don’t actually work? Well, read do on to find out how.
In the past, I’ve been reluctant about writing posts on making money from blogging. The main reason being is that I wasn’t comfortable with it. And more importantly, at least not until I was actually making money from blogging myself, right?
Too many gurus and noobs make the mistake of trying to write about making money when they haven’t even done it themselves. I just didn’t want to be one of those gurus.
Anyhow, fast forward almost 10 years, and here we are. I’m pretty confident about sharing my ideas and tactics on the topic of blogging for an income. So, if you’d like to get my perspective on the topic, and discover exactly how I earn an income from my blog, today, hopefully, you’ll find this post useful.
Is making money every blogger’s objective?
Nope. Not every blogger is on a mission to turn their blogs into an income-generating machine, and that is perfectly cool.
For those who are, however, earning a steady income from blogging is a fulfillment that few successful bloggers get to experience. It really is.
When I say a few bloggers, on the whole, quite a lot of bloggers earn some kind of income from their blogs.
In a survey carried out by ProBlogger some time ago, it found that just 7% of bloggers (ProBlogger readers) made between $500 to $999 per month.
So, what you need to know is that there are never any real guarantees that earning money from your blog will work. There are many factors to take into consideration. That said, however, it’s not impossible either.
I think anyone can earn something from their blogs, be it just $10 a month or a cool $10,000 a month.
What you’ll need to make $1k per month from your blog
Here’s the list –
- Patience. This is the big one as most people today seem to lack patience. We’ve cultivated a society for being impatient, and technology is partly to blame. Blogging is not a quick fix to your financial problems so don’t expect quick results.
- Smart work, not hard work. If you are smart about how you spend your time working on creating income from your blog, you can achieve your goals much faster. If you can combine smart work with hard work, then even better.
- A plan. Most folks starting out just jump straight in without a plan. Start a blog, add some content, throw up some ads and you’re done, right? Nope, it doesn’t work like that. You need to set yourself some realistic goals, set milestones, build a community, do your research, and all the rest of it. To help you with those parts.
So, what about me and my blog? – you’re probably wondering.
Am I actually making an income from Magnet4Blogging?
Yes, I am. But for me, this blog is kind of my secondary business/income stream, since most of my revenue now comes from providing services as a freelance web designer and front-end dev at fabriziovanmarciano.com
I’m absolutely OK with this because I’m equally passionate about my freelance business as I am with my blogging business.
It’s OK to have multiple passions, it’s what being a solopreneur is all about, right?
But, of course, I know what’s really on your mind. You want to see proof!
Show me the proof that you’re earning at least $1k per month from your blog, Fabrizio?
OK, here goes.
I make just over an average of $1k each month from my blog and I have done so for the last few years. Not a huge amount of income, mind you, but it’s a nice stream.
In addition, I’ll be totally honest, that income hasn’t grown in the last 6 months. It’s more or less stayed the same. Hopefully, I can change that when I begin planning for 2020.
90% of my blog income arrives from promoting affiliate products and services, and 10% arrives from selling my one and only eBook.
Now, some months I can earn a little more than the amount above, and some months I can earn just under $1,000. It can vary, actually, but generally, I average $1k+ per month
Important note: The reason I’m sharing you this mini-report is not to brag. There’s nothing to brag about, anyway. I’m sharing this mini-report with you so that you can hopefully appreciate that I am being legitimate and that I can provide you with sound advice and tips, based on what has worked for me, on how to monetize your blog to earn an income too.
Now, let’s get started.
You must have decent content and good traffic
I’ll assume that you have a blog with some decent content and a good amount of traffic too. In addition, I’ll assume you have a decent-sized audience too.

You should set your income growth goals
This is so important!
Rather than aim for that elusive $1,000 a month income goal, you should try and break it down into monthly goals, perhaps start from where ever you’re currently at.
If you already earn a nice $200 a month from your blog, make it your goal to earn $250 or $300 next month or the month after. If you are starting from zero, then make it your goal to earn $30 to $50 a month first or next.

Ways in which to generate income from your blog
Now the fun part, ways in which to make your $1k per month from your blog.
Now, again, it’s important that you set some goals as I mentioned above, and slowly make your way up to your $1k goal. Assuming you’re not making $1k already. I can’t stress enough on the importance of planning and goal setting.
Remember, there are zero guarantees that any of the tactics listed in this post will work for you, so don’t set your expectations too high. Most importantly, take your time and have fun with the process.
Some other factors you should also take into consideration are audience type, and how engaging your readers are with your content, in terms of commenting and sharing.
OK, let’s get started on monetization tactics.
#1. Promote affiliate products
The simplest way to start generating income from your blog is by promoting affiliate products and services.
Now, when I say it’s the simplest, I don’t mean it’s the easiest. I’ve said this many times before. You still have your work cut out when it comes to affiliate marketing.
Find a bunch of great quality and trusted products and services that you can write genuine reviews about and create video tutorials of, and start promoting them on your blog.
If you can’t think of anything to review or write about, consider reviewing all of the tools you’re currently using for growing your blog. These could be –
- The theme you are using.
- The hosting provider you are using.
- Any premium plugins you are using.
- Any premium productivity tools you’re using, etc.
Remember, if you’re just starting out, you’re not going to see any substantial income at first from your reviews.
Search engines take time to rank content and reviews, but the traffic will start to increase over time. So, once you’ve written your reviews and created your tutorial videos, sit tight and wait for your first few affiliate sales to come through.
Better still, focus on promoting your reviews on social media and through other mediums and platforms. And, continue producing great content in the form of reviews, guides, tutorials, and walkthroughs.
#2. Sell private advertising space
Another great way to help you towards making $1k each month is to sell some advertising space to targeted advertisers.
You will need a few vital ingredients for this to be successful. Plenty of targeted traffic, and also having a big reader/subscriber base helps a lot.
Perhaps make a list of your big traffic posts and add a banner to each one telling visitors this space is available for advertising. You’ll need to create some kind of PDF portfolio or page for your prospects to learn more.

#3. Publish sponsored blog posts
Accepting sponsored content to publish on your blog can also be very profitable, however, you need to be super careful and smart about the kind of content you choose to publish.
Accepting sponsored posts is more or less the same as selling private advertising space. The only difference is that it’s a lot more contextual and long-form. That said, you still want the content of the sponsored post to be relevant, helpful, and valuable and not just filled with sales marketing cr*p with tons of outbound links.

Depending on your niche, amount of traffic, and targeted readers, you could charge anything from $100 up to $250 or more for a sponsored post. Make sure you set your fees and stand by them. Companies are known to haggle down the price of sponsored posts.
#4. Sell digital products
This is one of my favorite ways to earn income from my blog. I have just one eBook which I sell and make anywhere between $24 and $78 per month from.
I really should get my thinking cap back on and create a few more, right?
It doesn’t just have to be an eBook, though, you could create a full-blown online course, perhaps create an app or piece of software to sell.
Information-based products is a lot easier and cost-effective to create than coding up a piece of software or application to sell.
And don’t worry if you have doubts about whether your product will sell or not. As long as you can do your research first, and create something that people want, you can sell it on your blog and make money.
#5. Provide a service or consultancy
If you’ve been following my blog for a long time, you will know that in 2014 I started providing services in web design and website development.
This venture took off like wildfire and, as a result, I’ve since stemmed from my creative and design services into a separate business venture of its own.
If you have a particular skill that could be valuable to others, don’t be afraid to polish it up, wrap it up, market, and sell it on your blog and social media as a service.
It could be something simple like creating featured images for blog posts, or something more complex like writing and editing copy, website maintenance, bookkeeping, etc.
#6. Display network ads
Finally, we get to using network ad platforms like Google AdSense to display ads on your blog.
Again, this is one of the simplest ways to monetize and earn an income from any blog or website with decent content and traffic.
Yes, the amount you earn will depend greatly on your industry and traffic. In many cases, unless you have a blog that generates hundreds of thousands of page views each month, AdSense might not make sense to use due to its low income, in addition, it can make your site look crappy as you have little control over what types of ads appear on your site.
When I used to run AdSense on my older blogs, I was able to make between $50 and $100 each month from each blog with just 30K monthly page views.
Experiment with this and see whether it’s a profitable route to go down or not for your own blog.
